Reiki A Universal Healing Energy Reiki is the most widely practiced energy healing technique in the United States today. It is widely used in conjunction with other natural healing techniques. Reiki , a Japanese word, means Universal Life Energy. Reiki is not a religious practice , it is a natural healing method. Reiki can address acute conditions Reiki can address chronic illness Reiki promotes balance among the body's systems Reiki promotes the self-healing process Reiki brings physical and emotional balance Reiki can be used on any living thing Reiki is a nonintrucive light touch therapy Reiki may induce deep relaxation Reiki compliments medical treatment and other therapy What could I experience during a Reiki session ? It is recommended that you wear lose and comfortable clothing during your Reiki session. You will be lying down on a massage table, but in special cases Reiki can be given in a hospital bed, on a chair, or in almost any setting. The practitioner will place his or her hands in various Reiki positions and you might feel a very gentle touch. You might feel tingling, pulsating sensation, a feeling of warmth and comfort, and you might even fall asleep. Many people feel a sense of well being and calmness afterwards. If you are comfortable to do so you will be able to share your experiences after the session with your practitioner. Reiki classes: Reiki is traditionally taught in three levels.
